| Tara Badcock "PARIS & TASMANIA" |
| Tara Badcock's PARIS & TASMANIA was born one spring day in Paris in 2005 and is a boutique business dedicated to maintaining and challenging traditional hand embroidery and textile manipulation techniques, with a strong emphasis on sustainable use of natural and recycled materials, which are locally sourced whenever possible Each work is entirely hand made by Tara and a small team of dedicated individuals based in Tasmania, using textiles and imagery sourced from a variety of locations worldwide. Within her business, Tara is passionate about bridging the utilitarian with the exceptionally beautiful, realising her handmade creations through a process of research, experimentation and regular travel between France and Australia. Tara graduated with Firsts Class Honours degree in Fine Art from the University of Tasmania in Hobart in 1997 with a major in printmaking. Since this time Tara has exhibited her artwork and textile creations widely in local, interstate and international locations and furthers her professional development in the field of contemporary art and design through a self-initiated programme of arts residencies, workshops and travel.
